- Nov 113:00 PMFood Pantry Shopping HoursWe realize how challenging it can be to focus on your studies if you are worried about the basic necessities - like how to pay for food. At Hawk’s Harvest, our goal is to make food available for UNCW students who are experiencing food insecurity*, no questions asked. So stop by and grab some groceries during our shopping hours – we have all your favorites on hand, like mac ‘n cheese, pasta, cereal and more. *Food insecurity is the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods, or limited or uncertain ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways. (Definition is from the Life Sciences Research Office, S.A. Andersen, ed., "Core Indicators of Nutritional State for Difficult to Sample Populations," The Journal of Nutrition 120:1557S-1600S, 1990.)
