Sigma Upsilon Sigma will be living up to its mission this November! We will be providing an opportunity for club members and students, who are interested in learning more about Criminal Justice and Social Work-Related Careers through an extravagant event: The Criminal Justice Expo! We will be having 12 to 15 different career providers come out to our venue location, where students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of vocations in Criminal Justice! Not only that, but we will be having live music performances from bands, who are made up entirely of UNCW Students. It does not end there! This will be a valuable networking opportunity and a chance for students to get involved with two UNCW Student Organizations: The Sociology and Criminology Club and the Local Chapter of the Criminal Justice Honor Society. Adopt-A-Family is a great opportunity to shop for a local family in need of assistance with their Thanksgiving meal. We work in conjunction with the Sister Isaac Center at the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary's, located in downtown Wilmington. This center provides food, clothing, household items, and financial assistance to community members and families. Want to donate a thanksgiving basket this year? As a sponsor, you will buy groceries to provide a holiday meal for a family – we provide the shopping list – and the groceries then need to delivered to us in a container or box with a lid (this helps to make transporting the meals easy) the Monday morning before Thanksgiving – November 25. We ask that donors also provide $20 cash for the purchase of a turkey by our community partners.
