UNCW Recycling Depot and Warehouse

The Recycling Services here at UNCW is hosting a volunteer opportunity for students to learn the functions and resources that the center provides, and also the ability to gain hands-on experience within the warehouse. Thank you for taking an interest in volunteering with UNCW Recycling Services!




Requirements:

Volunteers will assist in the sorting and processing of recyclable commodities which include:

 removing contamination
 sorting by material
processing recyclables to prepare for market.

Volunteers will work alongside recycling professionals and learn the different types of recyclables accepted here at UNCW and how different materials are prepared to commodify them for market
Please adhere to the following rules when volunteering:

Wear proper clothes based on weather conditions
Wear closed-toed shoes, no open-toed shoes
Remove and safely store all jewelry 

Things that will be provided for you (if needed):

Rubber Gloves
Aprons/Splash Guards
Safety Goggles
Face Masks

Please note that volunteers must be UNCW-affiliated!
