- Sep 176:00 PMFilm Screening: Elie Wiesel: Soul on FireHonors is co-sponsoring the screening of Elie Wiesel: Soul On Fire, on September 17th, 6pm at the Kenan Auditorium. The film will be followed by a Zoom Q&A with the filmmaker, Oren Rudavsky. This is a great opportunity to meet members of the Wilmington community and to engage with the legacy of one of the most powerful moral voices of the 20th century—Elie Wiesel—and to reflect on how history, trauma, and activism intersect in shaping global human rights. This film screening and virtual Q&A will count as one of the three (3) required cultural activities for student in HON 110, but we encourage students in all years to attend. The event is open and free to the public, but you need to get a ticket. Please use this link to do so (you will need to login in with your UNCW credentials): :https://uncwarts.universitytickets.com/w/event.aspx?id=2165. Additionally, it will be helpful to us as we plan if you would also RSVP via Wavelink. In partnership with the Wilmington Jewish Film Festival, UNCW Honors College, and the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts, present the screening of Elie Wiesel: Soul On Fire. This compelling new documentary offers a rare, intimate portrait of one of the most influential voices to emerge from the Holocaust. Told largely through Wiesel’s own words and voice, the film explores his journey as a survivor, writer, teacher and Nobel laureate.
