- Dec 2–3Angel Tree - Gifts for Children in Foster CareAngel Tree is an annual initiative to provide holiday gifts to children at the Boys and Girls Homes of NC at Lake Waccamaw. Children who come to the Boys and Girls Homes have suffered abuse or neglect and are considered susceptible to high risk behaviors. The Angel Tree collection is an opportunity to provide children in their foster care program with gifts during the holidays. Want to sponsor a child this year? Upon completion of the registration form below, you will be sent a wish list for the child/children in foster care to purchase gifts for. We typically receive gift information in batches from the Boys & Girls Homes of NC, so it may take us up to three (3) business days to send out your shopping list. We ask that you please spend approximately $100 per child; this will likely be the only gift this child will receive this holiday and many of the children have never received a holiday gift before. The wrapped, new gifts will need to be dropped off Tuesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 3 between 8am – 5pm in the Sunset Beach Room (room 1025) of the Fisher Student Center.
