Notice: Campus Safety Training Exercises Scheduled May 20-22
The University Police Department will conduct active attacker preparedness exercises May 20-22 in Morton Hall. These exercises are being conducted out of an abundance of caution. Campus safety is a standing priority.
The entire upstairs and western side of the first floor of the building will be utilized. UPD and members of EMS, as well as local fire and law enforcement personnel, will be involved in the training activities to prepare for a possible real-life scenario. Participants will use firearm simulation equipment and be outfitted with safety gear for their protection.
The campus community should not be alarmed by any sounds or signs of first responder activities near or in Morton Hall during this time. The training is slated to conclude by dusk each day.
Please reach out to police@uncw.edu with any questions or concerns. More on campus active attacker preparedness may be found here.
