Ege Named Board VP for NAVPA
Camden Ege, associate director with the UNCW Office of Military Affairs, was elected vice president of the board of directors and delegate at large of the National Association of Veterans Program Administrators (NAVPA) for the 2024-25 term.
“Serving on the Board of NAVPA and being selected as vice president is both an honor and a responsibility. It allows me to advocate for the success of veterans and their families by enhancing access to education and improving the benefits they’ve earned through their service,” said Ege, who has served the organization for several years. “I am excited to ensure our military-affiliated students have the resources and support they need to thrive in their academic and professional journeys.”
In his new role as vice president, Ege will work on initiatives to help improve and enhance the GI Bill and stay informed on any changes the Veterans Administration makes over the next year. Ege will also be in direct contact with federal agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Education and the Department of Defense to improve and develop the educational opportunities for active-duty personnel, veterans and their dependents. Ege will also have input with the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate Veterans Affairs Committees, the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and the National Association of College and University Business Officers, as well as other national and regional organizations concerning NAVPA’s mission.
Having served as a Region III delegate prior to this promotion, Ege has experience working with and representing military-affiliated students attending UNCW. His goal—to foster collaboration between NAVPA and educational institutions and maintain a supportive environment for these student's specific needs—remains at the forefront as he takes on this new leadership role.
"On behalf of the Office of Military Affairs, I could not be prouder of Camden Ege’s election to the NAVPA board of directors as vice president and delegate at large,” said Bill Kawczynski, director of the Office of Military Affairs at UNCW. This prestigious role not only reflects his dedication to serving our student veterans but also highlights UNCW’s commitment to supporting veteran success on a national scale. Camden’s work with NAVPA will ensure our veterans continue to receive the best access to their GI Bill benefits while helping shape the future of veteran education initiatives nationwide.”
